HAWAI'I

THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS

Hawaii is one of my favorite places to photograph.  Its beauty ranges from magnificent beaches to towering cliffs and waterfalls with everything in between.  I have found that there is a peacefulness and subtle mood that is hard to find any place else.  I try to bring that feeling to life in my photography.

OAHU

I love the north shore of Oahu.  It has a sense of calmness and spirituality that words can't describe.  When you visit, try and stay away from the Honolulu and Waikiki areas, unless you like the crowds.

Hawaii (Big Island)

The Big Island is my other favorite island.  It's so dynamic and the beaches are amazing.  You could essentially split it down the middle, where Kona is on the left side and Hilo on the right.  Kona is arid and dry, where volcanic rock owns the landscape.  Kona has the rain forest and humid feel to it.

Kauai

Kauai is one of my favorite islands.  It has the north shore charm and the absence of the hustle and bustle associated with Oahu.  From the Na Pali Coast to the Waimea Canyon (The Grand Canyon of the Pacific), Kauai has many nature features any outdoor lover can appreciate.

Maui

Maui is a popular destination for celebrities and those who like to shop.  It also has great access to Lanai and Molokini.

Lanai

Lanai is a short boat ride from Maui.  It has a resort and a great snorkeling beach near the port.  The main populated area is in the center of the island.

Molokai

Molokai has some of the highest sea cliffs in the world.  Similar to the Big Island's Kohala Coast, the cliffs were part of a land mass that collapsed into the ocean.

Niihau

Niihau is a small island located north of Kauai.  It's generally forbidden by 'outsiders' unless invited.  They do offer tours and excursions.  It's a bit drier than most islands, mostly because Kauai sits in the path of the weather patterns.

Kahoolawe

Kahoolawe is the eighth largest Hawaiian Island and sits just west of Maui.
